Recce Plots
Recce Plots are 10x10m temporary plots that we are using to monitor the health of native habitat. These protocols allow us to take a closer look at the different types, and quality, of habitat present on our sheep and beef farms.
Tim Logan, Cate Ryan and Josh Foster spent the summer of 2018/2019 completing a grid of Recce Plots across all three of our study farms. They counted and measured the different species of trees to know how much woody biodiversity the farms contain. They also measured how much carbon is in each plot, so we can compare how much carbon each habitat type contains, on average.
